Sauce recipes!

All sauces are stolen from Miyoko Schinner's "Homemade Vegan Pantry" book.

Tomato Sauce

For about one jar:

Maple balsamic ketchup

Replace vinegar with balsamic vinegar. Replace sugar with maple syrup.

Spanish ketchup

Replace vinegar with red/white wine vinegar. Add a sprinkle of garlic powder and onion powder (a whole tsp if you are making enough for a jar). Add chopped olives.

Mexican ketchup

Add garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, and smoked paprika.

BBQ Sauce

For about one jar:

Italian Dressing

Makes about half a jar:

Teriyaki Sauce

Makes about half a jar:

Heat sesame seeds in a dry pan until they pop and smell good (be careful not to burn). Set aside. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a pan, except for the tapioca flour and toasted sesame seeds. Simmer for 5 minutes. Dissolve the tapioca flour in 2 Tbsp of water by whisking it, then add slowly to the rest of the ingredients while whisking. Turn off heat and add your toasted sesame seeds.
